Gifts for 1st Birthday...

My daughter's party is this weekend and people are asking what to get for her other than clothes. She has so many toys already and we live in a small apartment so we can't handle any more. Any suggestions?

Check out for some great gift ideas for a 1 year old girl. There are pages that you can navigate by age and gender and prices across major retailers so you can find the best deal.

my aunt bought my son some rubber duckies, some onesies for the texas heat and new bibs so he can go all out when he teaches himself how to eat. ever last bit of that gift has came in handy for my baby boy's first year!

I decided that my daughter would have enough presents from just family so I asked that people bring a donation in lieu of a gift and donated to our local 'Basics for Babies'. It was a great feeling when we went to drop off all the amazing items that our friends and family brought! And so needed for those little babes out there.

Gift cards, money, savings bonds, picture frames, books, diapers (always need those, right?!) snack foods, movies, a piggy bank. I don't think I can think of anything else!

A new car seat (front facing) or a toy box for all the certificates...we asked for some swimming stuff like water wings and a float, life vest, things like that since our apartments have a pool. I asked for books can never have too many books :) A friend of mine got him a gift card for picture people to get his pictures taken and I thought that was really nice...we wanted and needed he did get a bunch :) hope that helps!

lol... Money? Open a savings account for her at the credit union.
Or collect all the cash gifts and buy her a piece of furniture, or something that will be around longer than a toy.
Ask them to donate to a worthy cause instead?
Or if you are broke like we are... use that money for diapers and milk.
Maybe ask them to bring a food item instead? They would be helping with the party.
Gift certificates or cash cards for later... after she has outgrown the clothes and toys she has now.
Ask them to make a page for a scrap book for the baby to cherish when she's older.
Suggest baby safety items... baby gates, bumper guards, knob covers, cabinet locks. If you happen to have someone on that list who's a handyman... ask them to install these safety items for their gift.
