Ok, so I don't know if I am the only one in this boat, but, I weighed 118 lbs before i got preggo, went up to 160 lbs, and once my little girl was born I dropped down to 147-150. This is not normal for me!! I have never had to worry about my weight or what I ate. But, my daughter is now 9 months old, and I figured i have used the "its baby weight" excuse long enough! Please tell me I'm not the only one!!! What are you guys doing/what have you guys done to lose the weight?

PS -- i am so over the stretch marks that came with the extra weight gain too!! ((funny thing - i didnt get them on my tummy -- i got them on my BUTT and the insides of my legs)) I have tried cocoa butter for stretch marks but it doesnt seem to work. Do you think once I lose the weight, they will lighten up?? Or do you have any suggestions as to what I can put on them to make them GO AWAY!!

It makes me feel better to know that I'm not alone. I was 160 when I got preggo and was 210 the day I had her! She's 9 1/2 months now and I'm at 204 :( I've been eating less and trying to take it off but it just won't go away. I am still breast feeding so that may be part of it...It's really frustrating because at this point it's become an obstacle to having another baby... there's no way I want to get preggo with all this extra weight.....
Any advice?
And good luck all ;)

I feel comfort with my insulated sisters! lol Mineral Oil and Aveeno is what I have been using on my major case of tummy stretch marks that are well above my navel. We are lovingly calling them battle wounds. Brianne I am in the same boat with you. We want one more but there is no way at this weight! Where do people find the extra time or do they just have more energy than me? Maybe Im just lazy...but my daughter and I share a lot of giggle time :)

I weighted 115 before I was pregnant and I went up to 190 when I was pregnant. I was down to 150 but now I weigh 160. It is not normal for me either. I used to wear a size 6 and now I can only wear a size 12 or 14. I used to not have to worry about what I ate either. It is so annoying. I also don't have much time to exercise. I have stretch marks on my thighs and hips and stomach and they have faded some.

I am so FAT!!! i am the fattest i have ever been in my life and i can't lose it. i think by the time you get up, feed your baby, Play, put them back to sleep, clean the house, they wake up from their sleep, you feed them again they play, you try and go for walk and it's the hottest day EVER and you can't go for a walk. Then you play with your baby some more and they get tired and you put them to bed, Then you do washing or check emails, clean more or just want time to yourself (you tell yourself that you'l go for a walk when you baby wakes) your baby wakes and it's 5pm and you have to get them ready for bed and your right in the middle of making dinner. You day is over and your stuffed. And it feels like you haven't done any thing and your still fat. And thats just a day at home. That isn't food shopping day or play date day or activity day (gymbaroo) or Swimming day or go see grandparents day or see friends day.
Im going to lose the weight if it kills me.

Well, breastfeeding burns up to 1,200 calories a day! Also, an herbal weight loss tea supplement called Mummy magic tea was a great help reducing my tummy bulge and pp weight.

I am feeling you guys! My son is 9 months. I weighed 130 before and got up to 177. I weight 150 now ( have lost 12 lbs this month by switching to diet sodas instead of regular) and am determined to get down to my original 130 by June! I have been really watching what I eat and counting the calories (don't forget to allow an extra 300 - 500 calories if you are still breastfeeding). There is an iPhone app called Lose It - fantastic - it counts your calories and exercise for you, and tells you when you've gone over. You can enter your weight and track it - when you lose, it subtracts calories until you hit your goal weight and then it maintains. So far, so good.
I used cocoa butter during my pregnancy and didn't get any stretch marks... only on my boobs.
Good luck! It'll come off eventually!

I hear ya! I just feel like I have no motivation to loose this weight, I have 10 more pounds to lose and I've reached a hump and it won't go away! :( I like the Denise Austin workout videos and sit ups! You also have to eat a little better. Key is 10-12 grams of fat a day to lose quickly, you should loose about 10 lbs in 3 days! Otherwise eating healthy is about 33 grams of fat. So look at the fat and not the calories in the food. For the stretch marks tan that will fill them in. That cocoa butter doesn't work.

when i had my daughter i got sent to theatre to stop the bleeding, anyways my muscles didn't contract back so i've got all the left over flab.
what i've been doing for the past 8 months is eating three meals a day (breakfast special k, lunch sandwich a piece of fruit or a yogurt, dinner main meal but not as much as i used to have and i drink alot of water) and alot of exercise (taking my daughter out in her pram and workout dvds and i do alot of dancing) since doing all of this i've lost over 4in of my belly, sides, bum and legs. i've still got a lil bit of a flabby belly but i'm carrying on until i get my belly back and i can fit back into my size 10/12 pants again. its going to take a while but thats my goal.

I was really paranoid that i would have trouble loosing baby weight while I was pregnant, but once my bub come along i forgot all about it. i was very fortunate to go down a size, but i take my baby swimming a couple of times a week (he absolutely loves it) and i get good exercise at the same time. I think that's what saved me!! As for stretch marks I used cocoa butter during the pregnancy an it worked for me, however i had a friend that wasn't as fortunate and had them on her bottom, legs, stomach, breasts and arms!!! She says bio oil is fading them rather quickly, worth a try i guess!!

I am in exactly the same boat. I actually weighed less when i was pregnant than i do now. I have never felt comfortable using the baby weight excuse cos i weigh more. Now that my son is crawling i am finding i am exhausted by the end of the day. For xmas my partner and i actually bought a Wii and i also got a Wii fit. I try and use it everyday, even if its only for 30 minutes. After doing that for over a month i have lost 1.5kgs. I think for me its not so much the weight loss (although this is so important) its feeling like i have more energy (which i do). I have made no changes to my diet yet an i figure as soon as i do the weight will come off quicker. Although having a baby changes your body so much. I think that is the main thing women have to come to terms with. Even when you go back to pre baby body, you may find that your hips are bigger or other parts are different.

As for the stretch marks i have them all over the tops of my legs. Apparently the purple ones fade over time. I don't think there is alot you can do for stretch marks but they do fade or go away with weight loss.

Haha! You poor thing. Let me tell you what. I was in the same boat as you. 108 when I got pregnant and 162 when I gave birth. Mind you, I ate very healthily but towards the end of my pregnancy, all I craved was milk milk milk. I don't even LIKE milk. hahaha!

After I had Analeigh and AFTER my broken Coccyx healed, I started running. I would run at a pace of 5 mph for 40 minutes a day and then take the weekends off. I did run pre-pregnancy however so you might need to build up to that. Along with a healthy diet, I am now back down to 117. I don't really know about stretch marks as I didn't have them. Good luck!

Me and you are in the same boat I weighed 122lb @ 5'9" before I was prego I got up to 178lb fter I had my son I am holding steady at 154lb and I only got strech marks on my bum and thighs as well! I have stated to cut out all sugar and all white flour, and also cut my protion size. and I am walking everyday for 30 min. I figured I don't need the gym since I chase my son around all day everyday. best of luck to you (and me) on this very hard juorney of weight lost (something very new to me)

I'm still trying to loose my last 15 pound, so I just joined a gym. I'm hoping it'll help! Loosing weight is all about your calories in and calories out, so watch what you eat and take your little one to the mall and fast walk around the mall if you don't have time for a gym. Many gyms do have child cares which helps with the "who will watch my baby" dilemma.

My son is also 9 months & I still have some to loose, baby weight is the hardest weight to loose. I'd rather try to loose my Christmas chub anyday. The only advice I have is work out & watch what you eat! Once you get down to your original weight it should be a little easier to maintain it. As far as the stretch marks you'll have them forever unless you have plastic surgery, I have them sssooo bad on my tummy & have tried everything (I got them w/ my 1st son that is now 13 years old). The only thing I haven't tried yet is "Bio Oil" I've heard some good things about it. Be prepared that nothing will get rid of them completely but it can lighten them up. If they are really red & look bruised like the color should go away especially if you loose a little weight. Welcome to your new body our babies are so worth it!!

Welcome to your new body! It sucks. The stretch marks will lighten up some. Your skin will still feel loose. If you are still breastfeeding your body will hold on to some of the weight. I had trouble loosing weight with all 3 of mine. I actually had the doctor put me on something to help me loose. Good Luck. It is small price to pay for such a wonderful gift.
