my son is 10 1/2 months old and only has two teeth, he was born 4 weeks early, but seems to be on track with everything else, even walking! he has had two teeth for the longest time and i dont even feel any more coming in. is this normal or should he have more by now?

Hi Josey, your baby is just fine. My son is 7 months old and has two teeth. He stands up on his own and crawls very well, says two words! Every baby grows at their desired pace, you don't need to worry at all

Teeth come in when they feel like it. My daughter did not her her first two teeth until a week before she turned one. Her whole first year she was teething though. My son just turned one this month and he has 5 teeth. All kids are different just give it time. It is a miserable process but it will get better.

My son turned one a few weeks ago and now has 11 teeth. My daughter, whose 5, had all of her teeth by one besides the two year molars. I think early teeth just runs in the family. I noticed someone mentioned biting and you're right--be grateful your kiddo doesn't have a lot because it hurts!

My daughter is 1 year and she has 7 teeth, 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. I know my friends little ones got teeth all at different times and not as soon as my daughter has, I don't think you have anything to worry about. Children all develop differently.

My LO turns 1 in a week and has 1/2 of a tooth. I don't give it full credit because it seems to only partially have erupted through the gumline. It did this about 6 weeks ago. I'm glad to read that other babies are still rather 'gummy' at a year old or later. She's pretty good at gumming things but it's rather frustrating not being able to give her crunchy things like regular cheerios.

They will come when they are good and ready. My 12 month old only had 2 teeth up until about 3 weeks ago. He has cut 4 teeth in 3 weeks. His bottom 2 came through first at like 6 months. He now has his top two and the two either side have cut through in that last week.

my daughter will be 1 next week...got her first 2 teeth on the same day at 3 months, had all 8 front teeth by 8months! Now I think she may be starting to get 1 yr old molars...I think they take longer to pop through cos they're bigger? My older son only had 4 on his first birthday....so they are all "normal" :)

that is normal, all 3 of my kids started getting teeth around their first birthdays. the rule of thumb is that the later they get their teeth the healthier they will be and the longer they will keep them.

we have 9 teeth so far. 1 of these is a molar! I must say that the molar was the worst as far as the teething goes. Motrin was our friend when he was cutting this one.
