How to get a bubba to drink water...

My daughter, Mia, is 7 months old and doesn't drink enough water. She never drinks water. Is it okay to put food colouring or cordial in it to make her more interested in drinking it?

I was concerned about that too. My doctor said not to worry. If I wanted to give her water don't give it shortly before formula or breastmilk is to be given. Water has no nutrients and you don't want to fill her up because she won't be hungry for the formula which has all the nutrients needed. She also told me that there is water in almost everything they are getting that they will not dehidrate.

you really should ask your baby doctor. i was told that baby dont need water until 11 to 12 months when they start whole milk. or look it up on-line

my son cries if I try a cup, but if I put warm water with a little blackcurrant squash in his bottle it he will take it once a day, dilute to 9 parts water 1 part juice and make sure it has no added sugar. to avoid tooth decay though it is important that he does not sip on it for ages, I use a small 5oz bottle and he drinks the lot in about 3 mins. and I take away any that is left, also it worth pointing out that my son will only take one flavour he not like peach, orange, apple, pear etc etc so it as a bit trial and error till we got one he likes!

I warm the water up a bit and just put a little wee bit of formula in it....if the water was plain or cold...he would't drink it. I also used a bit of Lily White Corn is safe and the Dr. recommended i use it...

Yes try putting it in a sippy cup with a little juice. My boys love drinking out of them!

I give my 6mo old about an once a day. In the beginning I would add a little bit of fruit juice (apple is good) and also got him a sippy cup which he liked to be able to hold himself. I would start with a cup that is appealing so she wants to mimic you. Maybe drink some water and show her to get her interested. Good luck!
