I've heard so many people telling me to stay away from Jolly Jumpers and walking rings.. but are they really harmfull?? My son just wants to jump in my arms and on my lap 24/7 I am considdering getting him a Jolly Jumper but I'm not sure if its worth it or not.. My Grandmother said that they can hurt the development of a childs hips and legs.. is this true??

my 7 mo old has been using the rainforest jumperoo from fisher price for about 3-4 mos now & loves it. I also agree that a stationary jumper is safer than the doorway kind & you can move the stationary one from room to room easily!

I have both a walker and a Bounceroo, and my son loves them! Its important to always monitor them while they are using it, but overall is fun and safe for them. =)

I also have my son in a Rainforest Jumperoo. He loves it. It's also a great way to get things done around the house.I think we started him in it at almost 4months. Our doctor said he is healthy as can be with great strength and development. I feel a lot more safe with him in the Jumperoo than I would in a doorway jumper. It is stationary and he can't hurt himself in it so I can leave the room for a minute if I need to.

My daughter LOVES her Jolly Jumper! It's her favorite thing, and its really helped build the strength in her legs. I turn on music and she and I have a great time together jumping and dancing away. It's good exercise for me too! I never leave her unattended in it. I know people are nervous to use them because they think their baby will bang their head on the door frame but my daughter never has. I wish that I had purchased one with the stand so that when I'm busy doing things she could be in the same room with me.

My son uses the Rainforest Jumparoo, and loves it. His legs and hips are just fine. I would suggest getting one that is stationary tho. The doorway ones scare a lot of mothers away, due to the risk of slipping off.

I don't think that a Jolly Jumper can hurt your child... My son has been using a jolly jumper since he could hold his head up, just before 3 months old and he LOVES it!!!! His hips and legs are not abnormally developed. My parents had me in a jolly jumper as a baby and I am fine! Go ahead and get a jolly jumper.... your son will love it! The only thing I've heard about the walking rings is that it might make babies walk on their tip toes at first, but I know people who's kids used them and no problems with hip/leg development. If you're concerned, ask your son's doctor. But I say, go ahead!
