My 13 month daughter has been having white or pale yellow stools. It happened after I switched her from formula to whole milk. I took her to the doctor and they said it should be normal and to give it a week or so to try to clear up after switching to 2%. My mom is really worried that it is something serious tho.. Has anyone elses child had this problem?

My 14 month old daughter just had that. She had white stool with diarrhea. I took her to the doc, who said she had a stomach virus. I was concerned that maybe I was giving her too much milk, but he said the amount was fine. It lasted about a week and is now back to normal!

my daughter is 13 months and i noticed that she had a few of those too after the switch to cows milk...i think it lasted for like a few weeks, but it wasnt like that every bowel movement...maybe like once every couple of days she would have one stool that was white or pale in color...havent noticed it now though in a couple of weeks. everyone tells me its normal anyway, including our public health nurse. she said its common for a few weeks or so after switching to cows milk

I also noticed this difference in my daughters stool after switching her to cows milk but it did not last very long and she is just fine now with normal looking stool once again. I never bothered taking her to the dr. because I pretty much figured it had to be from the new change!

white stool could mean that your child doesn't have enough bile or something from the liver to break down milk. You are suppose to put them on whole milk until they are 2... 3.25%(homo milk) my son was sick and had white stool and my doc told me if it continues for a week to take him to emergency. thank god it only happened for a day.

they are suppose to cut back on milk also, you could just be giving her to much... try feeding her more solids and giving her more water. I do that with my 13 month old he gets 3 meals a day and snacks with maybe 3 -4 bottles in 24 hrs. He drinks alot of water and snacks on fruit throughout the day
