I just had a baby last month. She is now 3 weeks old. She has colic. And she's constantly fussy. How do I deal with her being so uncomfortable? What can I do to make her feel better?

Was she diagnosed with colic by the doctor? Or just seems to be fussy all the time? I ask because my little man was real fussy from almost day one and it went on for over two weeks, we found out we had to switch him to Soy formula, it took about a week but he is a lot better now (now that he is three weeks old). Still gets somewhat fussy for about an hour a day, but much better than all day like it was.

Anyway, may want to check on that. Also I don't think there is a lot you can do, but do some research online. And be sure to get some help, have someone to relieve you every now and again so you can take a nap or get out of the house for just a little while. I hope it gets better soon, I've heard they out grow it by around 2 months I think, so hang in there. Good Luck to you.

My 8 weeks old baby had severe colic symptoms who was on Zantac for a whole week but it didn't make any change in his condition. A friend told about babies magic tea which not only settled his colic but also relieved his tummy gas.

I'd like to know how to help mine as well! Sorry I just got onto this thing so I am not sure at how it works.
Anywho, my baby is 6 weeks old and she start up every evening around the same time and it'll last until mid-night. She take Mylicon with every bottle and Gripe Water every 4 hours. The doctors have changed her formula twice. Any idea on how to help comfort?

hope all goes well for you. i was an acid reflux baby. my mum had a hard time at it. i couldnt breast feed much to my mums disapointment. i had to go onto special formula and have something called prasobie (i think thats how u spell it). i dont know if it will help but my mum used to sleep me proped up and also on her chest with her slightly upright. really hope your little one gets better soon.

We now think our little princess might actually have infant acid reflux. She went from just having her colic time to being really fussy during and after all feedings. :( We see the doctor on Tuesday.

Hi Darlene. I guess im one of the Moms that have Lucked out. My Son, NEVER had colic. I was gonna tell you to try some peppermint water, but I really think that is used for upset bellies. :) My Grandmother once told me though...Run the sweeper, and it calms babies and helps them sleep. You could always try pacing the floor, or ask your babies doctor. Good Luck & Hang in there. The time will pass. Kristy

My little girl is BF and has a regular window from about 6-8pm when she is pretty much inconsolable. We were advised that having a regular time like that is a clear sign of colic. We give her gripe water, but it doesn't help too much. Really the only thing that works is to walk around and sort of jiggle her. Thankfully it is in the evening when Daddy is home, since it's also right through bath and bedtime for her two-year-old brother! I was also told it shouldn't last long, so here's hoping!!

My little girl has colic too. She was on Nan ha gold formula but after a check up with the GP- we changed on Novolac (colic) formula and she is better ever since! Before every feed she has infacol drops which helped her with gas and wind! Consult with your GP and if she she's on formula try and change it! Good Luck:)

My daughter never seemed to be able to get comfortable and we thought it was colic. It wound up that it was also due to reflux and she just really couldn't get comfortable with the acid in her throat. We switched her formula and purchased a Nap Nanny to make it so she didn't have to lay flat on her back. She loves this and is like a different baby now. It was an amazing find. It helps with her reflux, gas and congestion.

Thank you for the suggestions. :) No she was not diagnosed by a doctor. I will try and change her milk over and see if that makes a difference. :)
