Hi, Fellow AZ Moms!

Well, summer is here and so is the heat rash I get every summer on my arms. I'm reading lots about pregnancy and heat rash being really common - I'm just glad I only have it on my arms!

I don't feel really comfortable using medicated lotions because they absorb into your skin. In fact, my doctor said topical Benadryl would have the same effects on the baby as the pill minus the nausea. Once I heard that, I decided to skip any sort of medicated lotion altogether.

I googled natural remedies and they aren't working so well. I'm using Dial instead of perfumed soap. No lotion to avoid clogging pores. Keeping skin clear of clothing. Using baking soda on rash site to soak up any moisture. Staying cool (yeah, right). The only thing I haven't tried is aloe vera because I don't have a plant. Does anyone know of any natural, aloe vera creams - non medicated - that can help to soothe heat rash? Or, do you have any other ideas?? I was thinking of stopping by Sunflower Market or Whole Foods to see what they have...would love some advice!

Stay cool out there!

Hi! Aloe worked for me, and I didn't have a plant so I went to the local nursery and bought one. You might want to try getting urself one. It'll be helpful for all sorts of things, scars, burns etc. so it would be worth getting. Also I had to switch to all natrual cotten or linen type shirts cuz any type of polyester etc would keep heat and moisture in and it would kill me to wear them. Hope some of this helps.

GMTA - I actually went to Home Depot and bought an aloe plant over the weekend. Wouldn't you know it cleared up the next day before I used it? I'm glad to have it on hand just in case, though. I remember my grandma always having it on her back porch for burns and stuff. Thanks for the suggestion - glad to know it worked for you!!
