What's a simple eco-friendly habit all families can start?

There are so many simple ways to be eco-friendly today that it is difficult to mention just one. However, you also do not want to overwhelm yourself. I think the first and most important habit a family can adopt is to recycle. By teaching your family, not just to separate the recycling, but why it is beneficial and how they are helping the Earth and themselves, it will translate into being "green" in other ways.

What would you say to moms who want to be more eco-friendly, but worry it will be more expensive?

Being eco-friendly is quickly becoming the norm. Through blogs like these, or through local community resources, you can find ways to affordably live "green". As the demand for these types of products and resources continue to rise, the prices will drop. There are also many ways to be green that will cost you nothing. Recycling, walking, planting a garden, these are all ways to be green that will actually save you money. In the long run, being eco-friendly is an investment that will guarantee a profitable return. Protecting the Earth and your family's health are worth it.

What's one of your favorite eco-friendly brands you've discovered?

I make it a point to sample the latest green products, so I tend to switch brands often. Through my blog I share my experiences with the products. However, there are a few that I have come across that I absolutely love. Right now my top 3 favorite green brands are: Whole Foods Market's own Eco-scale cleaning products (particularly the Citrus All-purpose Cleaner), my BIALETTI AETERNUM non-stick pan (available at Bed Bath & Beyond), and my favorite would have to Lexus Hybrid, naturally. ;)
