Everyone says my little guys is chubby. I'm a first timer so I don't know how much he "should" weigh. How much do your babies weigh?

My little girl at 4mths old weighed 17lbs exactly, but shes also 26 1/2in long so they told us that as long as her height increases as much as her weight shes doing good.

Ha! My Max is 16 lbs 9oz last I weighed him (3 weeks ago). I'm sure your baby is healthy and fine, don't worry about "shoulds" just listen to your pediatrician!

My son Ethan is 17 weeks old and is 16 pounds 11 ounces. He's 25 1/2 " tall. His father is 6'3. My friends daughter is 13 weeks and already weighs 15.8, and is 25" long. So i wouldn't stress about it to much just go by what your pediatrician tells you. Happy Holidays!

Quoting Madelaine:

My daughter is 4 months and 9 days, and when I took her to the doctor today she weighed 18 lbs. She weighed 13 at her two month check up. The doctor said that she was gaining weight too fast because of the high amount of calories in the formula, but I don't over feed her. Anyone else had this kind of experience? I saw that some people said they had babies that weighed the same as my daughter, so did anyone's pediatrician say that the baby was over weight or gaining too fast?

My son is breastfed and weighs 18lb 3oz at 3mo 3weeks old.  Your daughter is not overfed and besides you never put babies on a diet.  Sometimes formula feeding mothers seem to get more problems from people than breastfeeding mothers. Your baby is probably just beautiful and will lean out with age and motion....find another more understanding pediatrician... :)

My baby girl was born on the 3/8/09 and is 4 months old (19 Weeks), her birth weight was 6lb 12oz. She was weighed today and she is 16lb 16oz, i was told she is growing perfectly. She does look kinda chubby but apparently thats normal.

My baby just turned 3 months on November 30 and I took him to the doctor on December 8th and the nurse said that he weigh 17lbs. 24 oz. My baby is chubby and he be hurting my back but he is a healthy baby. Every baby is going to grow differently. Even though people might say that your baby is over weight, still, you know how your baby is growing and it's healthy as long as your doing waht you're suppose to do don't worry. I have a family member right now that has a 5 month old and that baby look like he is about 1 1/2 yrs. old. But they are doing everything they should. It's just that the father has a lot of big people in his family. So don't worry. But if you are still a little worried after this then I suggest you take your baby to the peditrician and ask them if it's normal.

my son is Such a CHUNK! But it is because of his build. His daddys side of the family is shorter and they have LONGER torsos and SHORTER legs, and had broad shoulders and midsections. (not to mention his very round head). But I love a fat looking baby. the more little rolls the cuter they are to me! He was 13lbs 8oz at his 3 months checkup on Oct. 16. we take him back for his 4 month checkup Dec. 15 and I am guestimating him to weigh around 17lbs at least. He is a big boy. But he doesnt eat a lot of times a day, but he does eat 7oz with a spoonful of cereal in the bottle and 2 spoons of baby food twice a day. If the doc doesnt have a concern about his weight, I wouldnt either. He will lose a lot of it when he starts getting mobile anyways!

My son Ethan was born August 20th, he gets weighed on Dec 13th but last I checked he was 17lb and 26 inches...hes chunky but ADORABLE! and those cheeks are to die for. You will find he will all of a sudden grow and look leaner than chunk out again...it's just the way of babies...just love on those little rolls...he'll all of a sudden turn into a lean toddler machine and you'll miss those little rolls!!! If it makes you feel better, my best friends daughter was 24 lb at 6 mo...she is now 24 lb at 14 months...they just eventually grow a ton and self regulate. Take care and good luck!!

My daughter was 4 months as of the 2nd. I had her weight yesterday, and she was 13lbs 4oz and 25 inches long. She's petit. I don't keep track of how many oz she eats in a day. He bedtime bottle, I mix a bit of rice cereal in. And for lunch, I give her a bowl of rice cereal with a couple babyspoons of baby food mixed in. She needs some flavor or she won't eat it. I've only been doing that for a week. Until 4 months, she was just formula fed. She was breastfed for nearly a month when she was first born, but my milk changed and tasted sour, and then dried up.

My son is 4 months old and I am guessing he is about 18 lbs or more....probably more..lol! He was 17.8 at 3 1/2 months and 26.5 inches long. He is a chubby baby and I love the chubby babies..I have had friends who have bigger babies.Nothing to worry about until your doctor is concerned. Big babies are healthy babies!!

also your baby know when he is hungry and if he's hungry feed him. I just started cereal as well my little guy was born 8/6 and he is just getting use to cereal he sucks on the spoon like he drinking milk. He doesn't eat much of it but they eat more as time goes on. This is my second i have a 5 year old little girl and i feel like a new mom again too. I know that the 1st time is the scariest and you always wonder if you are doing it right, no way is the right way. You do things how you do them. Every baby is different my daughter was totally different baby than my son is. Your second one you will be more relaxed just hang in there, it get better the older they get.unless you have liker a 30 lbs 4 month old i wouldn't worry!
