When do you plan on starting to give your babies juice? The doc said to start her on a sippy up at 6 months do you just put formula in it if you have started them on a sippy cup?

Juice even without added sugar has ALOT of natural sugar...being a dental hygeniest I see this every day! ...yes it is still possible to have healthy teeth..just be sure to be on top of his home care...Im just sayin it is healthier to eat the fruit instead of the juice, when water is healthier & babies will still love it

My son has been using a sippy cup from about 6 months, but refused to drink water. I give him full fat milk in it and he loves it

My son has been using a sippy cup since he was 5 months old. He gets water in it at all meals and in between if he is just thirsty. He does occasionally get apple juice in it. I make sure it is 100% fruit juice and I water it down quiet a bit (1/3 juice 2/3 water). Even after being exposed to juice he prefers water.

the really is no need for juice, I agree with the dental hygeniest - the nutritional value that is in juice is not worth the empty calories and added sugar - I would do water also - I'm a nurse in a peds practice and we only recommend 4 oz of juice per day and to mix with water if you feel you need to do juice. Absolutely NO juice with or without water at bedside - if the child drinks the juice at night it sits on their teeth and can lead to major problems in the future. I do use it at times for constipation but added extra water to their diet will basically do the same

I just do water till she gets the hang of it. My mom babysat for me and gave her mixed fruit baby juice, I was kinda worried at first about her tummy getting upset, but she was fine.

I give my son juice mixed with water in his sippy cup and have done so since he was 4 months old. He loves it! He doesn't get juice every day though. Thought I would clarify that. He gets it maybe once a week as a treat and it's always 1 part juice and 3 parts water.

I worked in a nursery for 7 years before I had my daughter and I've found once you start giving juice they wont drink water anymore! There's no nutritional need to give juice so my daughter gets water in her sippy cup at meal times, she loves it!

I wouldn't put formula in the cup I just put water in it. You can do apple juice, but in the past I have only given a little apple juice since it has sugar in it.
