Left handed?

I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed handedness in their little ones?

My son seems to use his left hand almost exclusively to pick up toys, hold his pacifier, reach for things, hold his spoon (he can't get the spoon in his mouth unless it's in his left hand), etc. and will use his right hand more as a helper hand. He also sucks his left thumb. When learning to roll he rolled by using his left hand/leg to push himself over.

Mine is the same. Very dominant with the left hand. Don't know if it will last as neither of us is but it'll be interesting to see.

I have two lefties :) It has been a constant struggle, I found that both my son and daughter had troubles learning to tie their shoes, it took longer and was frustrating being a parent and not know how to show them their way....

At the beginning of every school year I let their teachers know they are left handed and if they are setting in any group desk sitting that they need to be on the end (where their elbows don't bump the right handed person next to them)

Liam our newest addition LOVED sucking his left hand when he was born, I have noticed just this past week he has stopped doing so. My husband would take the left one out and give him the right lol :) I really noticed my two lefties were going to be left handed when they were old enough to hold a spoon or write...It then was apparant that it was the left hand.

It's all in the genes!!! Left or Right?? Who knows for sure?? :)

Hand preference won't show up until closer to 18 months or 2 years. I thought my first baby was going to be left-handed too 'cause for the first year he used his left hand more often. Now he's 3 and he's definitely right-handed. :)

Both of his grandfather's are left handed and my husband was "taught" to use his right hand in school even though he intially would use either hand interchangably.

is there any left handed people in family? my daughter seems to be left handed, or at least at moment. picks things up and holds things (mostly) with her left hand and yeah its her preferred sucking hand and seems stronger, but my partner is left handed and it runs in his family. :)
