My son has a rash on his neck. He has always had problems with it (due to his baby rolls :)) But I wash and dry under there really well and it usually clears up within a couple days. This time the rash is HUGE and ALL OVER not just in one spot. It doesn' look like the same kind he usually has. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? We just switched him from Similac Sensitive to Nestle Good Start Protect Plus a month ago but thought its to long to be connected with that. Was not sure if it was hives or moisture related.

It could be a food. it could be a reaction to a new laundry detergent. I don`t think it`s the formula cuz it would have shown up when u first switched. go see your doctor and in the meantime try putting a soothing cream, oatmeal based, on it.

It depends on what the rash looks like. It could be eczema, contact dermatitis, food allergy, or heat rash. My daughter gets a rash under her neck also and on her face. The Dr. said she had a mild case of eczema and to put 1% Aveeno hydrocortizone cream for 5 days. Also to use Aveeno baby wash.
If the rash doesn't go way I would take your baby to the Pedi just to make sure.

Probably just moisture related... My daughter still kinda gets that under her neck. Her dr gave us Nystacin (wrong spelling) powder to put under there cause what it is, is a kind of yeast infection. I know it sounds kinda gross but the Nystacin really works to help clear that up. Talk to your sons ped. and see if that is something that will work for your son. Hope this helps

My son started to have a rash on his neck some time ago, we use the same lotion that we use on his face and it's been working quite all right. We use Uriage face cream for babies.

My daughter had a rash on her neck a few weeks ago and at her 6 month check-up the doc said it was contact dermatitis and put her on a very very low dose of steroid ointment and to use Aveeno wash and lotion. That took care of it, Good luck!

My daughter gets a rash on her neck due to moisture in her neck rolls as well. My doctor recommended rubbing cornstarch (or babypowder) on the area to help keep the area dry, also I always change her bibs and outfits if they become wet around the neck as this seems to make the rash worse. I think that if it was due to the milk change you would have seen a reaction within a few days of the switch.
