Starting Solid (Adult) Foods

My child LOVES baby foods (from the jar and oatmeal) but is very resistant to trying anything solid. Hates Puffs, Hates Cheerios, Hates the yogurt melts, Hates fruit that is not pureed, etc.
I was wandering if anyone else has had issues getting their child to learn how to self feed? My other child (turned two in April) was a little slow in this area too but not this slow.

Im having this trouble too, My daugher is 9months, when I put her in her highchair with toast, sandwhich or crisps she just mushes it into the highchair. If i break it up and put it in her mouth she will eat it. But when it comes to dinner she will only eat it if it is blitzed :( x

Give it some more time. Some kids are more sensitive to different textures than others. My kiddo hated puffs and Cheerios for about a month (or a little more) and now he can't get enough. Every time I put him in his high chair I put something in front of him to eat, and eventually he decided to go ahead and eat it. He also decided that he couldn't feed himself and would look at me and cry until I put a Cheerio in his mouth for him (even though he was playing with them just minutes before). But now he has no problems (unless I put something new in front of him--but he tends to get over it)

I would say just give it time...I had that same problem too once but what I did was let my daughter see me eat it and make it sound like it tasted soo good...and now she loves cheerios and puffs...but she still isnt big on the adult foods...but I wont give up!! lol...I just try and give her small pieces to touch and smell and eventually she puts it in her mouth
