How many of you feel you have done everything and yet still have no answers. I have seen tons of doctors and everyone tells me he is fine. I felt crazy, to keep insisting something is wrong. I finally got a dignosis of PDD, and am getting therapies, SpT, OT, PT. Yet I feel I should be doing more. Not sure what. But I feel something is missing. He is 4 1/2 and has an IEP and is going to Pre-school since last year. Am I the only one who feels like this?

Thank you all, Angela Smith, Tara Robertson, and Kelly Steffens, for your advice and support. I definitely won't give up! It is definitely frustrating, but I'm not a quiter, especially regarding my son. Thanks.

I knew my daughter had autism before I could get a doctor to tell me she did. By the time we got a formal Dx, I had already gone to 2 DAN! (defeat autism now!) conferences and learned so much about how to help her. It is a grugling process because not everything works for every kid, but my daughter has improved immensley with diet, supplements, OT & hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Visit www.generationrescue.org for ideas on how to help your son. It's not the Dx that matters, it's the symptoms. If you can help him with his symptoms, he may be able to learn better! Good Luck!

It took me several years to get ANYONE to listen to us and now my son has been diagnosed with Aspergers. It is very frustrating.

i too had to fight to get anywhere with my son,he is not autistic but is getting tested for adhd.I have been to doctors and the school back and forth for 3 years and had them telling me he was fine, nothing wrong with him,its cos he's an only child he behaves that way.I finally went to see the school nurse and told her what i thought was wrong and she put him forward for testing straight away,i 'am waiting for an appointment to see a specialist now that he has been assesed. The doctor that did his assesment said it looks like he has adhd and that someone should have listened to me long ago.keep fighting,i felt like giving up but i gave it one last shot and hit the bullseye.good luck!!
