You may want to find some very prefered toys or treats and offer to let him play with them when and only when he goes in the toilet. Also try changing all his poopy diapers in the bathroom so he associates it with that room. I love the grass in the toilet idea. Let him help you put it in there. I'm in the process of training my three year old and these are the suggestions I've gotten. Also our son loves to flush the toilet so we only let him do it if he has succesfully used it, not just when he tries. Good luck to us both :)

sounds like you have some good advice and the only thing I can ad is that my almost 4 yr old son w/autism is also not poppy trained but, we take him in with us adults when we do our bm's and keep it simple, mommys doing poppy in the potty! it's ok, and play oh it's stinky! .they do learn from imatation. try it it might take some time but my Abraham is at last trying to sit on the toilet even if he doesnt have to go..good luck

I don't have any ideas lol. But your not alone! We are going threw the exact same thing with my 3 year old son who has pdd-nos. I really don't think he gets it's suppose to go in there. So I showed him by putting the poop from his diaper in the potty... big mistake now he always wants to put it in the potty from the diaper and will tell me "stink goes in the potty" If you find something that works please let me know!

Well, the dogs are doing it, so it only makes sense. When I explained to my son about "putting poop in the potty" he thought I meant with his hands. Think super literal here.

I would make a big sign of the dog pooping in the yard and one of the boy pooping in the potty. You can try the Everyone Poops book, though it moght be too much information.
