Looking for some food ideas, preferably finger food

[deleted account] ( 7 moms have responded )

My daughter is 13mo and eats reasonably well loves her fruits and veges and a little bit of meat. She cannot have dairy or egg though which cuts out alot of our food options. Breakfast is particularly difficult cause whilst she loves porridge she prefers to feed herself and needless to say she hasn't mastered the art of the spoon yet so it tends to make a whole lot of mess and not feed her very well. She loves toast but I don't like giving her the same thing all the time... And all those little breakfast bars they make are out because they contain dairy. I generally give her toast and fruit but would love some more ideas. She eats carrot sticks, zucchini and capsicum strips, potato chips (note she can't have sweet potato or tomato either), chicken breast nuggets, chicken, steak strips, lamb, peas and corn, mushroom slices, roasted beetroot and pretty much all fruits. She also has bread (toast or sandwiches), rice cakes etc. There's probably a few more things but that's the main of it. Thanks in advance

what about a pancake mix that uses water?? My son loves when I make pancakes and put a little applesauce or vanilla extract in the batter for some extra flavor.

My son is 15 mon. & I'm still unsure whether or not to start him trying PB..! I was told by the doctor that they don't like to give little one's nut things or fish, due to allergies..I like the reply about the waffles and pb...he is also into the finger food things, won't eat too much anymore w/ me feeding him. Have to find finger things for him to eat...

For breakfast I some times give my little one a waffle with a little bit of peanut butter on it. I just cut it up so its finger food size.Sometimes she gets pancakes when we make them (once in a while) or toast with a spread of some kind on it cut up. Gerbers graduates makes a lil' crunches in cinnamon maple that my little one loves. they smell like those dip sticks you can buy if you like that kind of thing.Have you tried making smoothies out of the fruit? I like to use the frozen fruit (cheaper) and you can put some veggies in so its not all fruit.and you dont have to use milk if you blend it smooth enough.ummmm cereal thats the right size for finger food its fast and easy. hope this helps you.

If she can try her on Mum Mums with some juice, PB and J always did the trick for my daughter or just a Jelly sandiwch. She loves her fruits so a bowl of mixed fruit such as pineapples, strawberrys, kiwis etc. Since she can't have eggs do a chicken and veggie stir fry without the egg. Can she have granola? Dried cranberries and rasins are great too. Hope this helps.
