Hello there. My daughter is almost 2 months old and she poops maybe once every 2 days. She used to poop a lot, but for the past 2 weeks i've noticed it decreasing and now its maybe two days before she goes. And when she finally goes, its ALOT and diahrea like. Is this normal? or should i be concerned. If you can help that would great! Thanks!!

are you breast feeding or bottle?

if you are breast feeding eat more fibre foods and plenty of water. baby's poo is normally very sloppy but if its like water i would see a doctor.

if the baby is on formula it should be regular poo's, maybe need to change formula. the idea from linda about watering the formula down, it can make your baby sick if you do not make the bottles as directed so i would not try that unless instructed to by your doctor. hope i have been helpful. i have just had baby number 4 in november 08.

Doe you  breast feed or formula feed?  I had this problem as well and my doctor told me it was normal because Jayden was bottle fed.  He told me that he could go up to three days without pooping.  At about 4 months old he started to become alot more regular.  I was also told if I became worried to try giving him a little prune juice watered down.

my son use to do this too, but would only poop every 3-4 days. Dr said it was normal ot to go anywhere from 5-10 days sometimes. he told me to give boiled water in a bottle, along with regular feedings.  i was breastfeeding. stool became regular only once he started on solids.

Don't water the formula down, see a Dr but they will probably suggest water inbetween or a prune juice or somthing. You will get so much advise its not all correct and so the best thing is to just see your Dr

Both of my children did the same thing. If you are using formula you should use 1 less scoop in each bottle. They use to make a low iron formula, but stopped making it. I did that for both of my children and it worked.

is she bottle or breast fed? if breast fed u try eatin chocolate, cause that goes threw them pretty good. my first born was breast fed for first few weeks but then i had to put her on formula then she got constipated so had to give her laxative drops. after a couple days she was going fine by herself.

Hi, I agree don't water down...if your child loses too much sodium she could have seizures...don't do it. If your breast feeding its totally normal for your baby not to have a bowel movement. I had this problem and I used glygerine suppositories...totally safe and works like a charm. Good luck.
