A couple random questions?

My son is 5 months old, and I was just wondering if anyone know if your able to give them a little water throughout the day, just because it's starting to get hot out and I don't want him to get dehydrated in between feedings. I was also wondering how many times a day you feed your baby cereal and/or baby food? My son gets cereal in the morning and night with his bottle and at lunch he gets some veggies with his bottle.

I had the same question about the water so I checked with my pediatrician. He said that in moderate climates like Europe (I'm German living in Egypt) you start giving water after six months of age, but in hot countries like Egypt you may start a month earlier if the weather is making it necessary. It has been pretty warm for the last month or so. So I started my Adam on water. First, he didn't like it at all. The faces he pulled were just hilarious but over time he got used to it.

I live in South Africa and I was told by my clinic sister and ped that I could give my baby cool, boiled water from 6 weeks!! I was not comfortable with that so I waited till she was about 3 months, but then I was also told that we could give her Rooibos Tea. I pack in a small bottle of Rooibos tea and a small bottle of water everyday into her nappy bag.

Mine likes water- he doesnt get but an ounce a day but he likes it- its really hot here right now, and our AC is broken so i gave him water to keep him alittle more hydrated.

every baby is so different.... aloura wants about 4 7-8ozs bottles a day and has one bowl of cereal for lunch she doesn't take a bottle with it either and i fill one 5oz sippy cup up with water and she'll drink that through out the day. my doctor told me that a baby could have water at any age so it all depends on where your from. i only started giving her water because it is getting hot and like you i was worried about the samething (she'll be 6 months next week)

I have a little piggy, he eats oats n the morning, breastfeed half an hour later, 3 hours later another. avocadowith rice cereal for lunch, milk feed half an hour later, again 3-4 hours after that, potato, pumpkin, broccoli all sorts of veggies for dinner, milk feed, bed.still wakes at 4 for a feed but its only a short 5 min drink. And he'll take a few sips of water between feeds after babbling lots

I think you can give your baby up to 6 oz of water a day but I'm not positive. The feedings you are doing seem pretty good.
