at what age did you start introducing spices to your baby?

My daughter is 9 months now and I too started her on solids pretty quick. I asked my Dr. and he said that when she was starting on her third foods, which was at about 7 months, that she needed to get used to eating what we ate, how we ate it, so that she wouldn't be picky. We obviously don't give her anything that is overly spicy as in hot, but we are Italian, so we add alot of spices. She too eats anything we eat after it has been ground up.Don't worry, your baby will let you know if they like it or not.

I think once our son was about a year old and ate everything we did, he would eat spices no trouble, even chilli that I found quite hot he just ate without flinching. Nowadays though he doesnt like spicy foods even if it is only a tiny bit of curry powder.

I'm a first time mom of a 9 month old. I've read many different things on this subject, and have just followed my instincts. My daughter began eating solids fairly early so I began introducing a variety very early, which included things we eat. For many of our meals I will put a small amount in the food processor or blender and she eats it just fine; added spices and all. My only issue now is getting her to eat the bland baby food.
