Remember to give the baby a chance to respond to you. Its normal not to be making sounds yet but doesn't mean you should sing/talk and read the whole time. Give pauses so the baby knows that when he should add something. He will get it and you will giggle so hard when it happens!

Sounds like you are doing a great job with all the reading and singing and playing. Just keep that up, with lots of face to face interaction. My son never learned to laugh until he was about 4 or 5 months old but now he's almost one and has plenty to say for himself.

I wouldn't worry, my girl is 10 weeks and is just starting to coo... she's "giggling" with her smiles and actions but no giggling sounds. We were at the dr's last week and she said its normal, and that other things she's at a 3 month level.

don't worry... I don't think my son made a lot of sounds other than crying at 8 weeks i bet in another week or two he will start every baby is different.
