my daughter was only 4lbs. when she was born. She was only two weeks early. she is just about three and only weighs 21lbs. the Dr. said it was ok as long as they are following their own curve.

When my daughter was 4 months she weighed ten pounds and was healthy. She is now almost 8 and weighs 15 and a half. As long as your doctor has no concerns about her weight then that is ok. Every baby grows differently. Some babies weigh more at birth others less. Some are longer and bigger in general others not. Just make sure the doc have no concerns and your fine :)

I was told by my public health nurse that the average baby doubles their birth weight by around 6months and triples it around 1year. Breastfed babies will gain quicker at first (before 4months) but slow down considerable after that. Breastfed babies can also have long periods where they seem to plateau followed by significant growth spurts. Whereas, formula fed babies will grow slower at first but more quickly and more steadily than breastfed babies after four months. Also, on average boys weigh more than girls as infants.

Of course this is just what average babies do and everyone knows that there really isn't an average baby. As long as your child is healthy and meeting milestones she is probably fine.

she is a good weight!! all babies are different, they gain weight differently and learn things at different ages and all. you shouldn't base your baby on other babies, your daughter is her own unique self!! my daughter is 7 months and at her 6 month check up last month on the 20th she was only 15 1/4 lbs but my friend has a boy and he is a month younger and he is pushing 18lbs. your daughter is perfect!!
