my son is 8months old and sleeps in a travel cot. he keeps climbing up the sides of his cot. my grandma, mum and uncle all said that means he is ready to go into a bed but i think hes a bit young and he rolls a lot too. should i keep him how he is or follow there advice?

that is young. my 2 yr old just got put int a bed. buy a crib that truns into a toddler bed that way you can use it until you feel he is ready. 2 yrs old is when my kids generally get put into a bed. at 8 months he can wake up in the middle of the night and get ut of a bed and could hurt himself

My 15 month old is still in his crib, and no time soon will he be going to a todler bed. Even though he is walking and can get around on his own, a toddler bed is not either flat on the ground or surrounded with enough protection to keep him safe while not under parental supervision. In reality though, it's up to you and what you are comfortable with. However, keep in mind that once they become really mobile, there isn't anything that they won't get into, and if he's in a toddler bed, there will be nothing to keep him in his bed while you are not around.

What is to say he isn't going to climb out of that also?? I am a first time mom and I have an 8mth old but I do not think she is ready for a bed. Do what you think is right for you and your family.

I wouldn't put him in a bed. keep him in his cot just put somethin over the top so he can't climb out of it when your asleep.
