My 4 & 1/2 month old son is at the lovely stage where everything goes directly in the mouth...But seems to favor paper like things such as wrappers, peice's of paper, tags, napkins and so on...Is it " ok " for him to chew on these things? Like he won't get ink poisoning or any bad/harmful chemicals from the paper?

My baby is the same, he loves packaging, anything with text or bright colours he just wants to get his hands on and have a "feel" i give him some things like the berrocca canister, a cardboard cereal box or a cardboard coffee cup. I think its OK to allow them to explore these things if you ware watching and you don't let them chew until it goes soggy and the ink starts flaking off. I stay away from plastic wrappers and napkins, those types of things are pretty dangerous because of the choking aspect. I let my son reach for my keys while i was at kindy with my older child, i didn't realize and they went straight in the mouth and he had a lovely time chewing them. I took them off him and he absolutely screamed the place down he wanted them back so bad. I have to be careful now as every time he sees them he wants them, I'm afraid they must be very dirty and could cut him if he shook the around. It's hard to deny them things when you know they are so curious and learning so much every day.

no if a peice goes down his throat he will choke on it. as soon as he's putting those things in his mouth i would take it away. i didnt realise once that my son put a peice of wrapper in his mouth and he was choking on it. it's not exactly safe and he's going to think that it's okay to put things in his mouth
