Hello! I use Pampers brand diapers for my 6 week old son. I am noticing that they leak pretty badly. If he is on his tummy, there will be a wet spot when I pick him up (on his stomach). I change him regularly too. Does anyone know anything about Luvs?

I had this problem the first two weeks and realized it's cause his penis wasn't pointed down. Make sure that it's down. Also, I use huggies and I LOVE them.

I honestly think LUVS SUCK!! They leak more then anyother diaper in my opinion. Do you tuck the top part in wards? If his penis is pointed upward in his diaper of course he is going to pee out of the diaper or leak out. Tuck in wards as you would do for it not to cover his belly button like when he still had the cord. I think Pampers brand is the BEST! If there is a Target store near you, I have heard that Target brand diapers are really good.

I was bought Pampers when my son was a new born, I hated them, all the fragrance they use gave him diaper rash :(

Since he was 3 weeks old I switched over to cloth diapers (which I love!). But like Jennifer, if I go out I keep a few Huggies in my purse or Kirrkland (the Costco brand)

we use cloth now but when we were using disposables we preferred huggies and i liked to have cheap diapers on hand and luvs work better than any generic i've tried and are nearly half the price per diaper compared to huggies.

they aren't terrific...i think they have way too much fragrance, i don't like that the inside of them has blue dye and they didn't keep my little guy as dry as huggies. with that said, they aren't bad for at home use when i knew i could change him more often but when we'd go out i always used huggies. we love cloth, though and i will never look back to disposables!

I have to agree with Felicia, definitly try other diapers if you are unhappy with the pampers...but also check to make sure his penis is pointed down. When my guy was little I always pointed his penis down when I changed him...but they get erections basically from the time they are born, so sometimes it would just pop up! Especially when they are on there tummies!!! I like the idea of folding down the top of the diaper like you would for the belly button (fold in, not out).

I tried Pampers first and did not like them. My baby was more prone to rashes and leaks with them. I switched to Huggies and I love them. I stopped there so I can't tell you anything more about other brands.

We are trying to use cloth nappies now but if and when we still use disposables, I prefer Huggies as I also found the Pampers leaked and she seemed to react to the chemicals in them too causing nappy rash.

I have tried every almost every brand except Luvs. Wal-mart diapers are terrible. The Parent's Choice brand... DON'T try them. My friends and myself have ALL had problems with them. The Target brand are actually pretty good. We like Pampers here and don't have any leaking with them, so I am thinking my friend Cheryl is right, each kid is different. It's just one of those things where you'll have to try them and see if they work for you.

I have used what seems like every diaper brand under the sun, and to be honest, I think the generic/store brands are the best. I like the Target diapers, the Costco diapers, and the Wal*mart diapers; although, now that my son is older I don't like the Wal*mart ones quite as much. My son has had no problems using any brand of diaper, luckily, but when he was newborn, we had TERRIBLE problems with him leaking out of his diaper. It was constant, and he was changed no less often than once an hour. I attributed it to him being a boy and not the diaper, but I am glad we tried so many different brands. To be honest, my least favorite diapers were the Pampers. I also did not like the Luvs. Huggies were okay, but they are pretty darn expensive. I hope this helps! :)

Huggies leaked for us the same way. We used Luvs until he got to a size 3. Then we switched to Pampers. It is harder with boys because they can pee up or to the side depending on how they are situated. Folding the top of the diaper down inside sometimes helps.

I love Luv's. we tried pampers and huggies for about the first 6 months, then we tries luv's. he is 16 months now and they are what we still use. his diaper can be so wet, like first thing in the morning, but his clothes are dry.

I found that Huggies leaked because their infant size 1-2 is not quite a good enough fit. The swaddlers, by Pampers were what I used. We've tried Kirkland as well, and found they were made by huggies...so we ultimately had the same problem. I find that pampers only leak around the legs, if my baby squirms around in it (he doesn't cry about dirty diapers...I just have to smell it :S )

I have tried just about every diaper and I have had leaks with all of them at one point. You just have to find a diaper that has a good fit for your child. But my best luck was with huggies.

for my son, luvs was ok til he moved to stage 3, then for some reason they leaked like crazy. we moved to huggies, and theyre awesome. no leaks whatsoever.

I have used luvs, pampers & huggies... I have had problems with the luvs & pampers leaking but not the huggies... I love the huggies pure & natural. They help lock away the wetness so that its not against my babies skin & they also help tremendously with diaper rash & sensitive skin... I just love huggies... and with coupons they are really inexpensive... I just catch the sales with the $2 & $3 off coupons on coupons.com & most of the time you get the best diapers out there for less than the cheap ones... I think the most I pay for diapers are about $3 - $4 a pack....

ive never tried luvs, but pampers leak on my girl too. i use huggies. i have used kirkland (costco) diapers as well and they worked well too. i recently bought the fisher price diapers, and they didnt leak, but gave my daughter a rash on her hips, not her bum, but right where the top of the diaper rubs on her back, so i wont be buying them again. im sticking with huggies.

I love the brand Luvs!! They are inexpensive but don't leak and they have blues clues on them.
