Early Riser

My 6 month old daughter is an early riser! She usually wakes up between 3:30 and 4:30. This has been a probelm since she was born. She had stopped about a week ago and would sleep from 10 to 6:20 am.

I used to feed her when she woke up but she would still be wide awake for at least an hour and a half. Now I try to keep her in her room. she will cry and protest until i turn the lights on bring her downstairs and let her watch cartoons. I cannot rock her back to sleep. I give her a bottle at 6:30 and she has cereal at 7:00 and then she falls asleep shortly after. she naps until 10:00. She is a great napper during the day. Please help I go back to work soon And unlike her I need more than 5 or 6 hours sleep.

She is still pretty young and for her to be waking early is the same as if she were waking in the night. I would suggest you feed her then walk her, singing softly etc until she relaxes then try to put her back in bed. If she cries walk her again etc until she will fall asleep. I wouldnt let her watch tv at all at that hour of the morning - she will be so stimulated by watching it is possibly contributing to the problem.
