i have a 9 month old lil girl, she doesnt stick her fingers down her throat but she does throw up. if she gets mad or upset she will start crying and within 30 seconds she will start coughing and gagging then projectile vomit. It is horrible...cuz we can't really let her cry anything out, i even talked to the doctor about it and she said that kaisley was just a vomiter! she would eventually quit when she got older and that i would just have to learn to deal

My six month old does it! I really only notice when he gags, so I give him something else to chew on...I guess fingers aren't enough, the palm of the hand is where it's at, haha!

Have you tried just giving him something else to chew on? My son likes wet washcloths.

They all do that. It isn't that he's trying to make himself sick, he's probably just sucking on his fingers. My four year old did that, and it passed after a while. My four month old is always gagging himself (he sucks on his first two fingers and doesn't take a paci). There isn't much you can do since it isn't what he's trying to do. I just know my son quit eventually not because he quit putting his fingers in his mouth but he figured out how to not gag himself.
