My son was born 10 lbs 2 oz...I was sooo worried about how big he was thinking he might just plateau out. I've finally come to realize that whatever you do NEVER compare your baby to anyone else's. Every baby is different. In fact my son is now 4 1/2 months and now 20.5 lbs and 28 inches whereas a lot of babies are just 12 lbs and like 24 inches at the same age...Just goes to show no baby is alike which is just fine:) Also the only thing to worry about is that your baby is growing, and his head circ-length-weight are all proportional...but your doctor will let you know if he/she thinks there's a problem...

Mines 8 weeks, was born 3.74kg (8.2pound) and 51cm (20.1inches) and is now 5.5kg (12.1pound) and 57cm (22.4inches). She wears 3-6month old sizes and is exactly on track for her growth curve. Another thing, generally boys are bigger and heavier than girls.

My daughter is just over 2 months old and 9lb, she was born 6lb 6oz and I have been told by the health visitor she is just slightly under her growth plan so hopefully on her next weigh in shel be back on track.

my 8 wk old is 10lbs 110z, & is 23 1/2 inches long. but it also depends on how much they eat, & how often, & if they were a preemie or not. if you think your 8wk old is gaining too much or not enough weight then talk to their pediatrician about it
