how did you start weaning your child off formula. ?

i breastfed my daughter until she was 6 months old...and put her on formula then and now she is almost 9 months and im trying to be ready to get her off formula, i wanna start weaning when she is 11 months old. share with me how you did it so i can try different things. thanks!

i just used the formula till it was gone them gave both mine the soya milk as they were both lactosintolarent an they drunk it fine an i did that at ten months ith my second an will do it around the same age with my third but they didnt realy drink much milk once they were on solids my second only had 2-3 bottles aday from around 6 months an my fist could drink anythink an was tube fedd for 3 1/2years

No one told me either, I started off with like putting about 2-3oz of milk in her bottle along with the formula, then about 2 days after that I put half milk half water and only 2 scoops of formula.. Then almost all milk and only one scoop of formula exc. and it only took me about a week or a little over it to switch her from formula to milk but you have to try and get your daughter to eat more of the baby foods and then offer her the bottle afterward so she will be full on food rather then liquid.

I would think it would be like introducing solids...give her some milk and she may or may not like it at first, and just keep giving it to her periodically throughout the day until she takes it all the time..

Didn't have to. She took to milk instantly! :) Dr said if she was having a problem we could do half and half. Never had to. :) Good luck though!
