I know the numbers and all that, like baby 1st food. but i dont really understand, on how do you just switch over? do you just cut off the bottle completely? and if so how many times do you feed them baby food a day? like every two hours? and how much every two hours? i know that to make sure they're not allergic you give them like.. for example, applesauce, for 4-5 days to make sure there's no just trying to figure it out... advice is nice. thank you.

Start small. I started with some cereal, around lunchtime and about 2 tbsp of breastmilk mixed with 2 teaspoons of cereal. Over time I slowly increased the cereal. Then I moved cereal to my sons evening feed (he cluster feeds so I wanted to sustain him longer) and I introduced about 2 tbsp of veggies for lunch. Once he tried some veggies I then mixed it up and started giving him 1 to 1 1/2 tbsp veg with an equal amount of fruit. From there *he's only 6.5 mo, I will increase his meal time amounts as he wants. He turns his head now at about 3 tbsp. If your baby seems to want more of the meal, just make more and offer, they tend to turn their heads when they are full.

At first feed your baby milk or formula, wait about 1/2 hour to an hour and then offer them some baby food. Babies are getting their nutritional needs from the milk/formula and not from the food. When you first start, they don't immediately need to be on 3 meals a day, your baby will let you know when they are wanting that. I started with 1 meal, now we are on 2 meals. Pretty soon he will be getting three meals a day but my son has some tummy problems so I don't know when he will be ready to handle 3 meals.

You can switch to a sippy cup.. But it is still important that they have Formula or Breast milk.. They normaly will just cut back on how many bottles that they have a day.. Like with my daughter she was having 6 to 8 bottles a day then when she started food she went down to 4 to 6 a day.. Now she is on a sippy cup (she is 9 months) My daughter eats 3 times a day and as much of the jar that she wants (she turns head when done) If you have questions you can always speak with your doctor about it.. Hope this was helpful in some way.. Best wishes and take care
