My little boy is 2 1/2 months old, i see alot of people started solid food plus milk with there babys around this age from the questions on this sight. But what are the signs to look for when baby is ready for more then just milk?

my pediatrician recommends not starting on solids until 4 months because their digestive system isn't mature enough before that.

It really depends if you are breast feeding or bottle feeding (formula). Starting a baby at 2 1/2 months is risky on solids as there little tummies are not ready for food. It is up to the individual baby as they are all different. Babies no nothing about solids until offered to them it really comes down to knowing your baby and the mothers instinct. If your baby is hungrey offer more milk first to see if that satisifies him, formula tables are a guide only as to what they should be drinking per feed. As long as baby is gaining weight the you are ok he may just want to suck so offering a dummy (pacifier) can also help.

u can tell when he is not satisfied he would more times than normal like drink a 8 oz bottle and 1-2 hrs he is hungry again. If he is ready give him a little (1oz or little bit less) of oatmeal or rice cereal in his bottle and see if that soothes him. Try in the morning and the night only though. u dont want to give too much b/c he may get constipated.
