i only took me 2 weeks to stop bleeding and then another 2-3 weeks to feel tip top shape, i waited 2 months before i lifted anything more then 15lbs though and before i did any heavy exercising. But my baby is 5 months old and i am back down actually smaller then my pre-pregnancy weight and im feeling great

I was back to "normal" in just under 2 months. I lost all my baby weight (45+lbs) and then some with in 4 months. My body is different than it was before just because your body goes through SO much. My entire body was sore for about a week and "down there" for about 2 weeks (I had an episiotomy so I had stitches). Everyone is different but its not that bad. Especially because you have a beautiful baby that makes it worth ALL of the pain/discomfort. Good luck!

Typically you are "Healed" around 6 or 8 weeks. However, how quickly you feel healed varies among women. With my first baby, I felt like crap for almost 3 months and sex still hurt occasionally after a year. I tore A LOT with her and it seemed to be forever before everything felt like it went back to normal "down there." On the other hand, when I had my son, I came home from the hospital after 3 days and literally walked into my house and started doing laundry. I felt great. *a little sore, but nothing like with my daughter* and sex was still painful for about 2 months. Whenever you feel ready to go back to "normal activities" go ahead. Take care not to lift too much (esp. if you had stitches or a c-section) for at least 6 weeks, otherwise by 2 months, you should be feeling close to back to normal, but if not, give it a little more time and don't be afraid to talk to your dr.

It's okay to workout and do normal things as long as your Dr. has said so. My daughter is 9 months old and I still have about 4more pounds to lose. I need to really work on my tummy too. Everyone is different.

Hope this helps.
