I also agree with what a lot of other people are saying about their incision site. Mine is still numb 16 months later. And its itchy too from time to time. And my scar healed wonderfully. My mother had a csection with me, and she's now claiming that the numbness is JUST starting to go away. And she had her section almost 23 years ago!

I had my c-section on a friday night and was up and walking on saturday afternoon, but i also wanted to be up and moving so i could go to the NICU and see my son, i was in the hospital till tuesday, could of left on monday but stayed till tuesday so i could bring my son home the same day as me......was driving by thursday, still sore but just takin tylenol for pain, and felt back to normal, i think around 3-4 weeks, with no pain or discomfort......but everyone is different, a friend of mine was out for about 8 weeks before she felt back to normal.....good luck

I had a c-section done on a Tuesday and left the hospital that Friday. Took me about 2 to 2 1/2 weeks to fully recover. It is really hard to get up and go to the bathroom right after, but will get better.

i had my c-section nearly a year ago now and at times i still feel 'something'...not pain though. For the first couple of weeks i felt more discomfort than pain but after that i was able to do everything i wanted to. Everyone is different though but as long as you rest and take things nice and easy at the beginning, the recovery time will be a lot smoother and easier.

I cried and cried when i found out i had to have a c section with my son because he was breech. BUT afterwards i felt the recovory time was quicker for a c section then it was for a vaginal birth. I realize every woman is different and recovers differently. It was pretty painful the first couple weeks it felt like every time i moved my stomach muscles were tearing, BUT i also had a cold and couldnt quit coughing, this was my biggest problem. If was never to the point where it was unbearable or thought i couldnt do it. Besides, look at the beautiful reward you have afterwards! I found my husband was ALOT more help with a c-section! Best of luck!

I was out of the hospital 3 days after my csection BUT was in alot of pain. I got a infection in my incision before staples were removed so had to keep the staples in 1 week longer then usual! It has now been 5 weeks since my csection and i feel 100 % better.

My recovery was around 4mths. I was in pain for almost 2 weeks but I also refused to take my pain meds to help it too because I did not enjoy being a vegetable while on them. My incision also got infected and that took a long time to heal. I has been almost 27mths since my c-section and I still sometimes dont feel right. My incison still gets irritated at times and its quite annoying.

The recovery though all depends on the individual too, I have had some people I know who had a c-section and were feeling better than people who had a vag birth.

It's different for every woman. You could have a great csection and heal right away, or the incision could easily get infected and you'll be out of commission longer. For me it took about 3 weeks to feel 100% again. It was SO painful for the first 3 days. Getting out of bed to pee was like my own personal hell. It felt like my guts were going to fall out. About a week later it was a lot easier to walk around, but any sudden strange movements and I'd be in pain. Finding a comfortable sleeping position is pretty hard too once you leave the hospital!

To be totally honest, I think it's an individual thing..different for each woman. I had read a lot of books that said it would be approx 6 weeks so I was prepared for that. I went in for my C Section on the Saturday afternoon, and by Wednesday morning I was home. I was up and about straight away and was doing loads of laundry and driving by the Friday. I was surprised that I had it so easy but other women have it a lot harder. It really is different for each mummy x x . Hope this helps. :)
