How old is too young to start setting a sleeping schedule?

My son is 3 months, and right now I am kinda letting him nap and/or sleep however long he wants to..but I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should wake him up sometimes in order to start getting him on some type of schedule...

My daughters been on a routine from day 1
She has been sleeping through the night since 4 weeks old.
She gets up a 8am naps from 12-2 then again from 5-7 then bed at 9pm it works great for us. but I NEVER wake her to feed, whens shes hungry or no longer tired she'll wake up :)

i had started a routine with my son from day one - he pretty much ate every four hours from the start and slept right after every feed, by 5 weeks there were no more night feed so the day routine stayed the same (he still at 6.5 months eats every four hours and has three naps a day @ 9 , 12 and 4 every day) i have never woken him up from a nap, he wakes at the same time each day on his own though. lots of people don't like to schedule their kids though and it works for them so don't feel like you need to have a schedule if you'r happy with what you have going now. for us, the schdule is much better, gage already knows what's going to come next and it makes him much happier...keep in mind that we're not ridgid with it, if he has a day where he's more active and not as sleepy we skip a nap lol but the boy likes his food so the eating NEVER gets touched!

my son is nearly four months old and i have him in a routine. everynight we do the same thing. at 6 i bath him half past bottlethen cuddle till 7 then into his own bed awake. i started this when he was coming up to 3 months and it took a week to get him into the routine now he goes to bed without a fuss sleeps all night. we het up at 8 i feed him then put him back to bed and he sleeps to 11. i find my little one can only play for about hour an half to 2 hours then hes tired so i just keep an eye on him and as soon as i think hes getting tired ii wrap him up sit him on my knee to let him calm down then take him to his bed. he has two big naps a day and a few short ones.

hope this helps in some way

Forget 'should', do what works for you. I've never woken my boy up from naps. I sometimes stretch out his awake time now so he goes to sleep for the night rather than have an early evening nap then up until late. He's kind of fallen into his own routine of morning nap, afterrnon nap, then bed around 8pm.
