My son is 5 1/2 months old. We've been trying to get him to eat rice cereal for 3 weeks and he really doesn't want anything to do with it. I've thought about getting some other baby food in case he just doesn't like the taste of the cereal but I don't know if that's a good idea. Any suggestions?

i'm going to start my son on rice at the end of this month and my mom told me to start it like more of a liquid but i remember my mom mixing in apple sauce for taste with my 16 yr younger brother and 18 yr younger sister

My daughter never liked the plain rice cereal. She took to the whole wheat one very well. But I have always mixed some sort of fruit in with her cereal such as bananas or pears, peaches and she loves it. Good luck! Just experiment and see what your son likes.

Dont put sugar in it. Try mixing in some mashed up fruit, or if your mixing the cereal with cooled warm water like it says on the box which can be bland, instead try mixing it with his normal milk as it will be a familiar taste for him.

Maybe try adding a touch of sugar to the cereal if you haven't already done so, you could even mix it with a touch of juice to give it some flavor.
