They don't need teeth to chew! My son has 2 front bottom teeth. Even though he has two teeth, he doesn't use them to chew. So yes, crawler food is fine. We haven't done any gerber, but we do finger foods. Steamed diced veggies, banana, avocado, noodles, etc.

my daughter also started crawling before she had teeth but she would still eat the gerber crawler food. she would just chew it with her gums lol, not haveing teeth didnt bother or stop her at all. so, your son might still be able to have the crawler food.

My friends little girl was almost 18mths when she got her first tooth! She ate what everybody else ate. Except obvious things like steak! I feed my 11 mth old what we eat, she won't have it any other way. I just cut it up, but it has to be chunky otherwise she won't eat it. When I started her on solids at 6mths she wouldn't eat it. Until I gave her whole pieces, like a piece of broccoli, that she could hold herself! She has choked a couple of times (nothing life threatening) but she learnt really early that you have to chew your food. People comment on how well she chews, most babies just swish it around and swollow.

They don't need teeth for most soft foods, he can eat those and also soft things like small pieces of banana, avocado, pasta, cooked veggies, etc. Their gums are very hard and can still mash the food up :)

They dont need teeth for those foods. They melt in the mouth (the puffs and the yogurt drops) They baby will also use his/her gums when needed to mash.

Just carefully monitor to make sure they are doing ok with it.

They also sell feeding nets. You could put it in there the first few times to make sure they are ready
