my son has ezcema on his face and ears and on his neck. it is starting to go away but what it left behind was that his skin changed colors. is there anything that i can do to make his regular skin color come back?

yes it is doing a whole lot better. come to find out he had ezcema and the pediatrician kept telling me that it was baby acne. but i used hydrocortisone cream on his face and to make the skin color come back ive been using coco butter.

Is his skin doing a little better now?  Also, is there a trick to using the baby oil...it seems like even if I use just a tiny bit it does help, but it makes his hair all gelled out (I mean, spiking it up a little is okay, but just wondering if I need to get more of it out :) )

thank you very much for your help. its getting brighter so i assume that that means that it is getting better. i do use hydrocortisone cream on his skin and it has seemed to work very well. i will go get some of the aveeno baby because i know aveeno works for me. i just wanted to see if there was something that could make the scars heal a bit faster but thanks again for your help

What color is it changing to (I know, silly question)?  Reason I ask is if it's going away, but getting darker/redder it might just be irritated and inflamed, so things to soothe it might help the regular skin color come back.  We use hydrocortisone to clear up our little guy's eczema and it does a pretty good job of bringing back his "regular" skin color instead of it being so red looking.  Also use a lotion to keep it soothed a bit (baby Aveeno works for him, but any moisture lotion would work too...just depends on the kid).

If it's lighter than usual, but healed, that might just take time for it to come back...otherwise (and this sounds extreme) it might be just that way...impetigo...an immune reaction to the pigment cells in the skin (sorta like what Michael Jackson claims to have)...I have a few spots of that (nothing big) on my arms and it just stays like a mole does :/

Good luck and hope your little man is doing better!
