My son only sleeps 30 min in his crib, he's 8 weeks...advice?

He sleeps just fine in his crib at night. But not during the day. The only way he'll take a long nap during the day is if I hold him or bring him somewhere and walk around with the stroller. He's up after 20-30 min in his crib. I've tried his swing, bassinet and other places.

I am a mom of 2 and my sons both had their sleeping challenges. So I recommend getting your son a gogowrap. I am sure he sleeps better in the car, but now you may couple that with music and him being wrapped up while in the car seat. Having him swaddled will soothe him, make him feel as if he is still in your womb safe and warm.
If you breastfeed that always helps comfort babies. Even if you bottle feed the sucking workout helps make them sleepy. Wrap and feed. Then if that doesn't work take him for a ride in the car or stroller. Check it out at
Good Luck:)

My daughter was the same way. Just hang in there. She was in the 4 to 5 months range before she would take a decent nap in her crib during the day.

Check out "The Happiest Baby on the Block" I swaddle and use the swing to get some much needed sleep. My youngest son is 9 weeks?! He was born 7/24/09. I get 4 to 5 hours soundly. I nurse him, change diaper, if needed swaddle hi and place him in the swing with seat belt and blankets He looks comfy and best of all sleeps!!!! I have done this with my other children and none of them have any trouble sleeping in their beds, it was only until they were able to turn over from tummy to back and back to tummy again that I've had to do this with them!
My daughter loved the white noise!!!! I had a CD and a pillow speaker near her crib, the head phones work as well. you can record anything or just turn the radio to AM and find a good in between station of static!! Good Luck

Hi Maria...My daughter is also 8 weeks old. Try putting him down after a feed and make sure he's 100% full. Also put the washing machine or hoover on. They say that babies like white noise.

At night time its very you could try and create that same atmosphere during the day. Maybe put him into a dark quiet room.

Good luck and congrats
