i cook for my son (steam/bake veggies & fruits) and been doing it since he was 4.5 months old. we haven't done juice yet but he gets several servings of veggies & several servings of fruit & yogurt as well as some water. so i don't think he really needs juice. i'm gonna wait on that one until he's 1.5 because most baby juices have added sodium & sugar in them, so i think he can do without those. in the meantime he gets plenty of raw fruits like watermelon, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, pomegranate, & a few days ago i squeezed a tangerine in his fruit serving to get some extra vitamin c in his diet. he just turned 9 months a few days ago.

i started my son on food when he was 3 months as he is a hungry baby and started trying him on a mixture of stuff from 4 months i think it varys with each child he may or may not be ready for it yet but your motherly instincts will tell you go with how you feel. goo luck

My son started cereal at 5 months, and he's now 6 months and we're starting to introduce veggies to him (so far we've just done peas). I wouldn't introduce the juice until he's had fruit.

My son started baby food at 4 mos. I make his food and he eats carrots, sweet potato, applesauce, pears, avacado, banana, plums, squash and he also eats cereal. As for the juice. I just started giving him a cup this week and he turned 7 months yesterday. He really does not know what to do with it but we are practicing. My doctors gave me a chart.

I am glad that you asked this question because I have received several different answers on this question. I have two boys and my oldest (who is now 3) started eating baby food when he was about 3 months old because milk just wasn't enough for him. And we started giving him juice when he was about 9 months. Whether that is right or wrong, I don't know. Thats just what we did. And now my almost-4-month-old will be starting baby food (apple sauce, carrots, etc.) pretty soon but already eats the baby cereal. Don't know about the juice thing but I would say once they have been eating baby food for a while they should be able to handle juice.
