Pelvic Muscles Really Sore?

[deleted account] ( 7 moms have responded )

I gave birth to my daughter 5 days ago and Im in so much pain I went to my ob and she said it was normal. But i can barely move the only time i move is when i breastfeed othe then that my family has to do everything else for me and my daughter. I was just wondering how long it took other moms to heal?

I was the same way!! I honestly thought my bones were seperated for good down there after having my DD in June. But it took a good month to get back to normal and now I feel fine. I could barely get out of bed and walk to the bathroom without intense pain for about 2 weeks, even turning over in bed was painful....but it will get better! Hang in there : )

Well, it's nine weeks for me and I'm still having pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed an analgesia but after a while it gave me cramps. The pain went away while I was on it but it has come back as I have stopped it. What should I do now. GP says it can last up to 12 weeks....well 3 more weeks to go.....

it took me a couple months, goin to washroom was the worst bit- feel lucky if your not having issues there- i did feel the strain too- just tried to take it easy, applied some warm washcloths to sore muscles... took lots of baths.. they were heaven sent!

5 days! Congrats! You aren't alone, I thought I was dying after I delivered. Then I started get contraction type pains during nursing. It is apparently normal. Take tylenol and rest, your body has just done an outrageous feat!

The more you do, the longer it will take to heal. Do nothing!!! (& I mean, pee, shower, and feed your baby only!!) for 2 weeks minimum! After that, take it easy for another 2. If people want a clean house or clothes, they'll do it! Just be mommy right now. Take advantage of them when they are that size! because they grow up WAY too quickly!!! You should feel normal around 4-6 weeks. Good luck & congrats. (It's normal what you are feeling!)

I was on prescription pain killer due to the intense pain - I am still recovering from a 3rd degree epesiotomy as well, though. My delivery will be 4 weeks ago tomorrow, and I'm still sore at times. I think taking sitz baths helped me a lot - I did that twice a day for 3 weeks.
