Recommendations on a camera

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good camera, I want one that will take a good pic in motion, and quick. You can't exactly tell a 4 month old to be still or do it again, and I've missed out on what could of been some really good pics

I have a Nikon D60. I can take several frames per second. It does take some getting used to focusing the lens, but it takes great motion pics. Everyone comments on the quality of my photos. Even with the flash on, it takes the pics almost instantly. It is expensive, but with Christmas coming up they start running specials on cameras. You could also try somewhere like Sam's Club.

Oh, and I totally forgot. So sorry. Try going to This site should help narrow it down to a couple for you and then you can go and try them out. They have a FANTASTIC compare section in there.

Canon Powershot SX10. LOVE it. It has a 'sport' mode on it that you can take pictures fast that ACTUALLY turn out. My cousins husband is a professional photographer and recommended this one along with one other one to look at in our price range of no more than 500. It is not a 'PRO' camera for 8 grand, but it's not a cheap piece of crap either. It's a little heavy, but after 2 weeks, it's no problem. Absolutely love it. Wished I had it for my daughters birth, but it was an early mothers day present on 5/4 along with my son on 5/5!-- I also recommend buying it from some other place than Best Buy due to restocking fees in the event that you don't like it, no matter what camera you buy. We got ours at Wolfe camera and we could actually feel the true weight of cameras there because they weren't attached with a cord! And we also ended up with a free book, prints and camera class, no restocking fee and it was the EXACT same price. And no my cousins hubby doesn't work for Wolfe. He is independent. - GOOD LUCK!

I have a Sony DSC-W300 camera. And I believe it takes AWESOME pictures! Just a regular point and shoot camera though, nothing professional(kind of pricey however. Bought it a year ago for $400 so the price may have come down). I love it because it takes very crisp, vivid photos but it'll work for what you want as well. It has a setting that's called (well doesn't have a name but the description) extra high speed burst. What it'll do is take multiple pictures at once until you quit holding the button down. That setting however doesn't use the flash so the pics aren't the same as with the flash but I have gotten nice pics when it's light. I don't personally use this setting too often but for when you don't want to miss a moment it's PERFECT! Also just a tip that I've found is when the flash isn't on, it doesn't have to process and the picture is taken much quicker. I know there are cameras out there with a quicker shutter speed but I think that's getting into the professional cameras then and I know nothing about them.

P.S.- Just tried the setting in a low lit area and not too bad!!! Maybe if you have somewhere that you can try the camera first (officemax, wal-mart, where ever they are sold? I'm actually not sure (bought mine online)) you can try it and if you like it find the best price online :)
