Can you tell by looking at her face? My boy (now 10 months) likes to play with his voice sometimes and scream for fun. His face is all smiley and he laughs with it sometimes as well - if you can't see his face though it sounds like he's upset! If she looks upset or in pain I would go through the usual - hungry? tired? nappy change? or needing comfort and cuddles? other problems?

She wouldn't be doing it 'just to get your attention' more because she NEEDS your comfort and love. As Heather said, she's too young to be manipulative.

Screaming and crying? Or screaming while happy?

If crying, is it when you walk away or set her down? My son didn't like being alone, he always wanted to be held or played with, he didn't play alone much until he started crawling.

If she is happy, it is probably because she discovered she could do it and she thinks it is fun.

My daughter loves to scream! She isn't in pain or anything so I think she is just discovering her voice. My daughter will scream then laugh then scream again. Its kinda cute.

At that age, babies don't know anything about manipulation. She may have colic, gas pains, or acid reflux. Try and figure out when she is screaming - if it is the same time very day, it could be colic. If it is when she spits up, it could be acid reflux, and if she is pulling her legs up when she screams or seems to be in pain, it could be gas pains.
I would definitely bring it up to her doctor. They can check out the normal causes for her crying.
