Sleep Sitting

So at 2:00 and 3:30 and 5:15, my 9 month old start whimpering and whining. I wait a minute, and it doesn't stop, so I drag myself out of bed adn head to her room. What do I find? Mattie is sitting up, swaying a bit, with her eyes closed tight and her bink in place. The first time I picked her up to get her back down, but the second and third times, I just nudged her back down. She went right back to sleep. What is she doing? Does anyone else's kid do this?

Sounds like maybe she's just practicing what she's learned how to do in her sleep. Usually this wakes kids up though. I know whenever my 10 month old daughter learns something new it interferes with her sleep because she just keeps trying to do it, awake or alseep! I would help her lie back down too, before she falls over and wakes up because she hit her head on the crib!

She is either playing in her sleep or shes having bad dreams. It eventually does stop. No need to worry. Both of mine did this.
