Solids & puree foods

My son is now 10 months & have only 2 bottom teeth.

He loves yogurt & eats is a lot with other pureed food and cereal.

I give him toast & a piece of well cooked meat which he sucks on.

When did you start with normal food? Did you wait for more teeth? What did you feed your baby?

My little ones were eating our food by about 6-7 months. At first I was pureeing, then mashing a little, then chopping kinda. As long as the food is soft, give him a bowl of stuff and let him him figure it out :-)

My daughter is 7 months and doesn't have any teeth yet. I started her on baby foods at 4 months. She was eating 3 meals a day and breastfeeding between meals. A couple of weeks ago she started getting hungry for more between meals. I have been giving her small chunks of banana, orange and baked apples. She also LOVES the Gerber Graduates puffed grains for crawlers, even though she is not quite crawling yet. These are great. They dissolve quickly and she has no problem chewing them without teeth. I would say that anything small and soft is good! Also, she seemed to like peas quite a bit. Everything besides the puffs that I have given her are too slimy to pick up on her own though. Good luck!

When I was about that age, my mother used to get a tortilla and soak it in the soup left from boiling beans and let me suck on that. I'm not sure what the "rules" are for table daughter hasn't gotten that far yet =]
