Transverse baby at nearly 33wks

[deleted account] ( 3 moms have responded )

I'll be 33 weeks this coming Sunday Nov. 1st and my baby has been transverse for the last week that my doctor is aware of. I've actually suspected it for a while as this is my second pregnancy going to term and I'm familiar with the feeling of feet. I have felt no feet this time around only the backside of my son. I have a follow up appointment on Nov. 13th at 35 weeks and at that time if my son is still transverse my Dr will schedule an ultrasound for the following week to determine if a c cection is necessary. He claims that my son should go head down, this is possible given the fact that my son is facing downward, but continues to be butt up with his spine under my bottom ribs.

What I'd like to know is, how many of you have had a transverse baby at this stage and how many of you had the baby go head down? I do not fear a scheduled c cection and in fact welcome it as I have family that will have to travel for the birth. My last birth experience was horrible and I fear the long labor and possibility of an ermergency c cection terribly. I want this to be a more relaxed delivery with as few scary twists and turns if possible.

Baby still has plenty of time to flip. It is not uncommon at all for baby to wait until a couple weeks before to flip. I wouldnt be concerned yet. Go ahead and shedule but understand that the "diagnosis" could always change. My baby wasnt head down until the last month.

One of my twins was transverse. he stayed that way for the last month or so. We joked that he was hanging on to my ribs cuz he didnt want to come out! My daughter was vertex and delivered vaginally. Then the doctor reached in and up, and pulled my son out by his feet- I pushed his head out. Both babies are happy and healthy!

both my sons were transverse but they had both turned head done by 38weeks. Hope it all works out for you.
