I just traveled to the Middle East by plane with my 6 month old son. I use the infantino sling (target, marshalls and burlington coat factory sell it) baby loves it and he usually gets in and goes to sleep plus it keeps him close to me and i can be hands free. Anyway our flight was 12 hrs and the airline provided a carry cot which is like a portable bassinett that hooks into the wall right in front of your seat. He slept in there for about 3 hrs. If you are flying my son's pediatrician told me to nurse him, when i reached altitude (basically the pt where it is safe to take off your seatbelt) and to do the same after landing because babies cannot pop their own hears so the suckling will help otherwise they may scream profusely due to irritation. I also found that it was helpful to carry my breast pump and my carrying case with my cool packs to keep the bottles i had previously pumped cool. Let me say we left my house at 10:30 am and i did not fly from America until 6:30pm and arrived sometime after noon in Egypt the next day and my milk was still cold. I just carried the milk, rice cereal, plastic bowl and spoon and mixed it right there in the airport and fed him. We are moms anything is possible. I hope that this helps.

When i travelled with my daughter the first time she was six months we flew from Nz to Canada, i not sure if you flying but with us as it was a long flight and baby does not have a seat we requested a bassenet seat so she could sleep on the plane. and she was amazing there like cars she fell asleep in all three flights there the one overnight she sleep for most of it. with luggage they are alowed just as much as you and the carrie on you are alowed a largger size for a baby. Feed baby up and down for there ears mabey even have dummie even if they dont use them, for emergencys. As long as you stay relaxed baby will two good luck

Make sure you have everything you need to take with you. Including toys, books, formula bottles, cereal. Because you won't have anyway to warm things up, bring warm water in several baby bottles to add to her formula and cereal. If you wrap the bottles in tin foil they will stay warm. You will probably want to bring Infant Tylenol with you because her ears will most likely pop, and this may bother her.

Do you have to buy a seat for her? Her car seat is the most comfortable place for her to sit for that long of a time. You may want to buy a portable DVD player and bring some kids and baby DVD's. If your Christian I highly recommend Boz videos, even my 10 month old watches those, and she has since she was 2 months old.

Because you are limited to the amount of bags you can bring on the plane, try to get everything in her diaper bag or the carry on bag.

We travel with our kids all the time although our traveling is always by car not by plane. Try to plan for the unexpected, remember to give her plenty of time to stretch and move around. This will be a little harder to do in a plane, but very much needed.

I hope this helps. God bless.
