When did you get your period back when nursing?

How old was your child when you got your period back when they were still breastfeeding? My daughter is 7 months old, and is exclusively nursed (on a schedule). Because she is scheduled, I expected my period to be here already, but no such luck. When did you get yours back?

My son is 7 mo old breastfeeding and also eating solids 2 or 3 times a time. I am taking the mini pill for birth control. I still haven't had a period and I am ok with it.

I exclusively nursed my son for just over a year. He was born in January 2003 and I stopped completely in Feb 2004, the following year. I didn't get a period until the end of March. I was worried for a bit, but after I just enjoyed it.

When i nursed my 3rd baby for 22 months I did not have a period at all until 4 months after she was weaned. With my 4th baby she weaned herself from the breast at 11 months and I had already had my period back for 3 months by then which i believe is why she weaned so early. During my period my milk production was always lower and it frustrated her.

My son is nearly a year old, and I still haven't had a period. I'm definitely enjoying the break!

I am enjoying my period break definitely, but we are wanting to get pregnant around December, so I am just trying to see if I will have my period by then. I am not on birth control...or maybe I am...haha. My husband is deployed to Japan, so that is my birth control! He will be back for a visit in December. We also hope to go and visit in October. We just want our first two children close in age.

Hi Lexie
Mine came back at 3 months with first baby and my second son was 4 months. Some women won't get their period as long as they nurse. One of my friends nursed till two years old and never got her period back until she stopped.
Also you can still get pregnant while you are nursing.
Enjoy your break from the monthly cycles it's perfectly normal!

Every one is different, but got mines back when I started on birth control. Once I got off the pill it went off for a couple of months. My daughter is almost 7 months now and I have had it a total of three times. You should be okay if you have not had one.

Three months...and it was so much different than my usual periods! And that was with my mini-pill. Are you taking birth control? I think the only reason I got mine was because I am on it. The only thing that is annoying is even on the pill I can't seem to get the start date right...bleh. :)

6 months. I was peeved! My friend got hers on her son's first birthday 2 months earlier, so I thought I was good for a few more months. The worst part was I felt like a 12 year old girl. I didn't know what to do, and was caught off guard LOL. My last period was almost 1.5 years prior.

With one of my kids it was when she was a year old and I had quit nursing. But with my last child who I am still nursing it came back when she was 5 months I think it just depends on your body.
