My six month old has never had a real problem with spitting up, now after each feeding and sometimes in the middle night he is vomiting the entire contents of his stomach. Anyone else experienced this so late?

Hi Kristine,
Hope you still read this. I have had the same problem with my baby. At 6 months he inexplicably started projectile vomiting. Sometimes it would be every day after a meal or a formula feed, and other times he would go for days of not vomiting at all. At the moment he is 9 months and has been projectile vomiting up to 3 times a day. This is either after a meal, a bottle or if he is in the car. (Fortunately he hasn't done it in the middle of the night yet.)

I'm at the end of my tether and wanted to know if you ever got any answers to your problem, and when it stopped?

my daughter is 7.5 months old. the past 2 days she has been projectile vomiting her bottle after about 5 minutes of finishing it, i mean the whole bottle she throws back up! she is on lactose free formula and has been from 3 weeks old. all your advise is saying they could be lactose intolerant but i know she is. Does any one know what could be wrong? I am going to call the doctors this morning. She did have a runny nose last week. but i couldn't imagine that being related. I am starting to worry!

My son has been doing that since day one as well. At first it was the amniotic fluid. Then they said it was reflux and that he would out grow it by 4 months. He is now almost 7 months and still does it at least once a week. His is usually in the evening at his last feeding. We tried switching formulas but they didn't work. If your thinking of trying a new formula, dr said it was fine as long as you finish one can before you start another one. Good luck!!!!

My daughter did that too. She started when she was 9 months old i think. And I got the don't worry about it they are fine from the doctors. When she started puking every single day like clockwork for two weeks straight, I thought she was really sick. (and by the way it was through the night too I don't know if there is a connection with that) But we didn't have milk in the house for a few days and that was when we finally relized she has a dairy allergy. It took us 1 1/2 years to put two and two together without any help from doctors. Sometimes you just have to listen to your motherly instants and demand answers. Good Luck finding health for your little one!!

my daughter has been doin that since day one....the only thing that helped her from doing an"exercist" I put a tablespoon of plain rice cereal in her bottle and everytime I try to give her a bottle without the rice she will exercist the whole bottle up! my 3 year old was the same way but he did grow out of it and usually they grow out of it in their first year....BUT if he just started doing that I would say he has acid reflux and the DOC can give u medicine for it! I think my baby girl has reflux too....and she will still exercist some times but I think I have it under control for the most part,,,,the only thind is I cant give her juice or plain formula right now! I plan on asking the DOC if she needs medicine now that she is older ,,,,you might wanna do the same and see what the DOC says for you??

hope I could help!

yes my baby girl is lactose intolerant she is on soy milk now,,,but I tried every formula for sensitive bellys,,i even tried a hypoallergenic formula,,,thats why I think she has acid reflux but for some reason the docs wanna say it is normal for them to do that when they are small but she should be growing outta that after the 4th month...definatly advise to take the baby to the doc,,,,,,they might suggest another fomula!

It could be the formula he is being fed. I had the same problem with my little guy & we found out he was lactose intolerant. Speak with you pediatrician before changing formula.
