I have a 5 yr old daughter that whines all the time and I feel like I lose my patience and I'm doing something wrong any advice

1. I ignore whining. "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" rings true, except if you are a mom.

2. I say, "I can't understand you when you whine. Please talk to me in your big girl/boy voice".

3. I reply to them in an equally whiney or exaggerated whiney voice so that it is annoying so that they get the point.

4. I tell them that babies whine and kids will make fun of them and won't want to play with them.

4. If all else fails, videotape them when they do not know it. Playing it back may embarrass them.
