Do you have any tips for helping kids concentrate on their studies?

All kids are different and learning the needs of each individual child is my best advice. What has worked for my oldest son will drive my middle son crazy! Get to know your child and don't be scared if they study differently than you do!

What's an educational game or activity you and your kids love?

One of our favorite games right now is "Suspend" made by Melissa and Doug. It is a fun game that involves a lot of thought and decision making While it isn't teaching any particular school skill, it is enhancing the brain as the thoughts run deep! My 7 and 11 year old love this game!

How do you encourage a love of reading in your kids?

I read to them! I have books everywhere and I rotate them often to keep their interest. I also try not to force, but model by example and gently encourage those who aren't drawn naturally to reading.

What's a great developmental toy for preschoolers?

I love open ended toys for preschoolers. Toys that expose an early educational skill in a fun and creative way. One of my very favorites is the Tall Stacking Pegs Building Set: This toy has been in our home for years, and all 3 of my kids still play with it today {currently ages 10, 6, and 3}.
